And here some from showing all the progress so far

2 days later i noticed it had started smoking heavily on startup and idle.
So i took it to a mechanic i knew for a diagnosis and he was adament it was the valve stem oil seals.
So a week later after getting all the parts gathered up it was time to get it in the garage and strip the head down.

After many hours in the garage and all new oil seals, gaskets and freshly reseated valve seats it was time to start it up.
And to my great joy it was still exactly the same:(
So next on the list to try was the turbo but before that i bought my self a set of joms to cheer me up.

and here was the out come.

Im pretty pleased with how it looks at the mo.
Next job was to get a new turbo so i was looking on ebay for about a week and finally got this one for £150 including p+p and 3 months warranty.

After another day in the garage and more raving and chewing i finally got the turbo sorted and shes running as good as new.
Next thing on my list is some Wheels
here is some pics of the car after a good clean

Just noticed that i have a problem after fitting the coilovers on the front. the top mounts dont sit into the wings correctly.
Has anyone experienced this before or does anyone know why it would be doing this?

Solved the problem today thanks to some forum members today.

Hopefully these will get delivered tomorrow

and heres a couple of pics i took today

My new wheels have arrived.
Decided to do my CV boot while i had the wheels off, got it all dismantled then realised Pages had supplied me with the wrong CV boot. idiots.
Heres a couple of quick pics of the car with the new wheels. will get some better ones tomorrow after a good clean and wax

Been a while since i did these but i have finally got the other 2 wheels refurbed and got a lot of pics of how i did them

Heres a pic of the stuff i used. Wet and dry 120,320,400,600,1000. ipson P38 filler, etching primer, silver metallic paint i got matched at the local parrys and clear laquer.

First i masked up the edge so i didnt catch the rest of the paint work.

I then sanded off the burrs from the curb marks ready for filling

then came filling the marks with p38 filler and waited 30 mins or so to harden

Then i started sanding down the filler to get a flat, smooth finish. Make sure you use i sanding block to keep it nice and flat.

Now to the priming. i used light grey primer but white would probably be better for silver.
I held the can about 300mm from the wheel and went round in one continous circle per coat, leaving about 10 mins between coats as it was quite hot and closing the garage door after every coat so no bits blew in with the wind.
I put on 4 coats of primer.
Forgot to take i picture of this part but it would have been virtually the same as the one before but grey.
After another 30 mins i started on the metalic silver top coat using the same method as with the primers leaving about 10 mins again between coats and putting on 4 coats.

After leaving to dry for about 40 mins i started the clear coat. Same method as before, 10mins between coats and 4 coats.
once finished leave to set for an hour and remove all the masking tape and newspaper and admire your lovely handy work
