Just thought id get a quick progress thread sorted on here

I dont want to bore you with the full progress thread as its a bit long winded, but basically this is how my car stood until recently -

Posted Image

Engine bay shot -

Posted Image

Brakes and old wheels shot -

Posted Image

Cool number plate shot -

Posted Image

Interior shots -

Posted Image
Posted Image

Then i decided it was time for a change after 2 mag features, and endless amounts of people getting the same wheels lol, so here is how it stands now -

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

And a quick brief spec is

Fully stripped out
Carbon doors, boot, bonnet, buckets, spoiler, petrol cap
Garrett GT2871R turbo all custom made, 308bhp and 210ftlb @ 5psi
Magnesium rally spec speedline wheels
AP racing 6 pots

Please feel free to comment :)

car's looking good!! :) personally i prefered the red wheels, as from your pictures they looked so good with the colour of your car, however, silver are also effective.

Thanks :) the wheels didn't really match the new yellow'y looking carbon doors IMO, its difficult to show how bad they looked with the pictures i have, but trust me its the right choice :D

Its not too bad tbh for a full 3 inch decat, i had the exhaust custom made to be as quite as possible but as free flowing, hence the massive backbox

Before the doors and boot and other crap ripped out it was at 1117kgs, with a full tank of fuel

Id like to think now with half a tank of fuel its probably around 1000kgs

Still plenty more to come out of it though ;)

lol. more well power to weight is what counts im looking into a fiberglass bonnet to try and get some weight out of it as its nearly the same weight as the moon

but i couldnt strip it ou that far tbh. i like my comfort aswell

Once i wind the power up to 8psi with the new clutch in i should be looking at well over 300bhp/tonne :D

stripped out is ace, but i must admit i do have a 150 astra diesel to run around in and has some creature comforts

That much be a scary car to drive with all that power!

It looks very nice!

One question tho... What are the holes for in the rear bumper? I've seen this before on these cars but I can't remember why people do it...

Thanks! and no, too much money in it to go racing, will do the occasional track day once the cage is in though

Its not too bad, keeping it in a straight line is a bit of a challenge with the plated diff but its not THAT bad

Holes are to stop the rear bumper acting like a parachute, it just lets the air flow a bit better underneath :)

You have basiclly done what i have wanted to do, iv been looking at these civic type r's with the idea to strip as much weight as possible but N/A and maybe use for hillclimb (under 2000cc cat), power would be great but its just the weight even after you strip and spend fortune on composite panels

Cheers mate, most of the work has been done by me. Anything that has been welded was done by a good mate of mine in ashford, he is seriously talented when it comes to shiz like this, wouldnt take my car anywhere else. and the mapping done by track n road in essex

If you used fiberglass items it wouldnt work out as expensive as the carbon ones! Mine should be around the 1000kg mark now, and i still have glass, ABS and heaters in so, in theory i should break 1000kgs with the cage in, which isnt too heavy i dont think lol

Cheers fella, was a daily drive up until recently
